The Los Angeles don’t seem satisfied with their recent two-game winning streak at the World Series Parade and are preparing to reshuffle their lineup for another offseason.
As the front office looks to examine the ballclub and make necessary changes, one aspect of the team that definitely needs improvement is the depth and productivity of the outfield.
Michael Conforto and Teoscar Hernández both struggled (Conforto’s batting average was .199 by season’s end), and each ranked near the bottom of MLB defensively. For these reasons and more, ESPN’s David Schoenfield recently rated the as the “best fit” for Chicago Cubs All-Star Kyle Tucker.

Tucker is a four-time All-Star and will be 29 years old by the time spring training begins. He spent the first seven years of his MLB career with the Houston Astros, and although he had a slightly weak season with the Cubs in 2025, he did well enough to earn another All-Star selection and his second Silver Slugger Award.
The right fielder hit .266/.377/.464 with an .841 OPS, 22 home runs, and 73 RBIs. He had an amazing batting average of .280 and OPS of .882 in the first half of 2025, but his performance declined after he broke his hand in June and tried to continue playing.
Either way, Tucker is projected to make up to $400 million this offseason, showing that the always have a big advantage in this area.
The have never been shy about spending big money, and all signs seem to be pointing to Tucker as a player who can make a big impact in areas of need for years to come. Only time will tell if the offer him the huge contract he has in store, or if the defending champions try to fill the hole in a more frugal way.
