According to Fabrizio Romano, Darwin Nunes is set to leave Liverpool this summer, with several clubs in the Saudi Arabian Pro League and Napoli pursuing Uruguayan strikers.
Nunez joined the Reds in 2022 as an exciting attack prospect for 85 million euros, but it is safe to say that he failed to meet the expectations imposed by such fees paid for the service. In all competitions, he made a total of 143 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool, scoring 40 goals and contributing 26 assists. These numbers clearly aren’t as bad as fame makes it, and while some of his goals were absolutely important, the fact that he wasted an incredible number of clear opportunities is undeniable.
Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal recently gave up on pursuing Victor Osimhen as he was unable to agree to personal terms with Nigerians. Napoli, still the parent club of Osimhen, has recently reached out to the 25-year-old Liverpool man to express his interest, and discussions between all parties are expected to take place in the coming days.
Darwin Nunez has remained guaranteed an exit in Liverpool this summer, when Saudi Arabian professional league clubs have been enthusiastic.
Napoli also recently contacted Nunes on a list of nominees and understands the talk that will soon follow.
