Natalia Silva has won 12 consecutive games since 2018. Half of that is under the bright light of the UFC, he feels that the title shot could win next, winning former flyweight champion Alexa Grasso, which will be held in Montreal, Canada on May 10th.
Silva is one of the hottest prospects on the UFC roster after beating the likes of Jessica Andredo and Jasmine Jasdavisius in the Octagon, and believes Win can set up a match for the UFC 315 Co-Main event and a match between champion Tina Shevchenko and Manon Fiorot with the winner.
Silva sees Fiorot as the “hardest” challenge for the Division’s Shevchenko, but still gives the edge to the “bullet” at UFC 315, and assumes the following scenario from Saturday onwards:
“It could happen,” Silva told the MMA fight. “But my focus should be on Alexa, so it’s not what I’m thinking right now. If you’re not fighting Alexa, if you’re fighting step by step, would you think of the next thing? Win now.”
Silva signed a new contract with the UFC after winning a $50,000 “Fighting Night” award in Las Vegas after beating former 115-pound title holder Andrade in a recent match in September, calling her new contract “very happy.”
“I’ve been thinking about it ever since I joined the UFC,” Silva said of the title. “I’ve always said I’m here to be champion in the UFC, and it’s the same now. I still have the goal of becoming champion, and I feel prepared for that.
Going from the top of the UFC to the Center Bell in Montreal means a greater audience, and has to adapt from smaller octagons to larger octagons, Silva believes it will benefit her fighting style. In fact, Silva said seeing Grasso shares Cage with Shevchenko in nearly 70 minutes in 18 months gives her ideas.
“It’s a lot of material to study and we’ve seen that she does her best and that it’s not that good for her to do it. We’re working on it,” Silva said. “When a fighter reaches a very high level with so many good and experienced fighters, the winner will make fewer mistakes and take advantage of the opportunity. That’s the goal. When she makes a mistake, I will take advantage of it – and I think it’s the path to victory.”
