The Minnesota Timberwolves hope to tackle a top six western conference placement after the roller coaster season.

Last week, Naz Reid expressed concern that the Minnesota Timberwolves had not shown sufficient resilience.

Specifically, Reid called out the team and called them not counterattacking violently enough. He explained: “The tenacity, the aggression, the team is the first to hit us.

Reed had no intention of filming his comments literally, but in his battle with the Detroit Pistons, the Timberwolves proved they were standing up for a brawl.

The Detroit Pistons leaned against the “bad boy” reputation of the previous era, and when Ron Powell ran to Don Teddy Vincento, it all fell hell.

After Powell stood up to his opponent after a play from Naz Reed, Divinsenzo held back what felt like half of a piston in a courtside brawl.

Reed saw firsthand the fighting spirit of his team. He was kicked out alongside Divinsenzo, and Pistons players Ron Holland, Isaiah Stewart and Marcus Sasser were all rejected.

In the game between the two 42 winning teams heading into the contest, it was Minnesota who finished 43rd and won 123-104.

Reed had warned that the Timberwolves need to be “nearly perfect” between now and the end of the season in order to land a top six spot.

Despite the brawl, a fully focused effort to win has shown that the team will remain focused and not be thrown out by the incident.

Reid’s concern that the Timberwolves were being attacked and they hadn’t fought back violently enough has now been disproved, and he can see it and be proud of his teammates in the game where he was kicked out.

Instead of worrying about an impressive Golden State Warriors overhaul, the Minnesota Timberwolves’ road to the top six could come at the cost of the Memphis Grizzlies instead.

The Grizzlies fired coach Taylor Jenkins and lost their first game under Tuomas Iasilo. They’re one win ahead of the Timberwolves.

Next, the Grizzlies face the Celtics and Warriors. And on April 11th, Minnesota will visit Memphis in a potentially decisive contest.
