The Washington Wizards have been one of the busiest teams in the offseason so far, and have made a big move to improve their roster.
After a disastrous season of the 2024-25 season, they had to make some major changes to the team after finishing last in the Eastern Conference with an 18-64 record.
They traded Jordan Pool and exchanged veteran CJ McCollum, but added Cam Whitmore to the roster.
The Wizards drafted Tre Johnson, one of the best scorers in the 2025 draft class. This seems like a great addition.
Despite the new additions, we believe Vincent Goodwill is the second-year player for Wizards, who is about to make his biggest leap next season.
Alex Searle was selected as second overall in the 2024 draft by the Washington Wizards. He struggled earlier this year, but as the season progressed, the French players improved and put in good numbers for the team.
He averaged 13 ppg, 6.5 rpg and 1.5 bpg, which is a decent number for the rookie, but his shots weren’t big and he needed a lot of improvements.
Searl played in the summer league and posted some great performances, including a record of competition with Brooklyn Net on an eight-block record.

Speaking about Sarr on his podcast, Goodwill said:
“Maybe I’m jumping on it a year earlier. Usually, it’s something I’ve been a guy throughout my career. I’m going to jump to you a year earlier.
“But I said, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, I watched it together, and then, ‘No, I’m calling my shot, I think this kid is good.”
Sarr gave him a glimpse into what he can do on the NBA floor last season, but his second year will be important to him.
The wizard has improved his roster and if you want to improve your ranking you will need to step up.
But Goodwill believes that Searle often struggles to stand up himself against the other big names in the league, so he needs to add more sizes.
“Alex Searle wants to see him gain weight due to his physical makeup. I want to see him make better shot choices. Sometimes he’d have problems with the girth around the edge, not necessarily the length.
He certainly has the ability to become an offensive weapon due to his skills, but the array of talent the Wizard has makes Searle more defensive at his size.
But if SARR can become a 20-10 player in the wizard who could become an Elite Trim Protector, they’ll be a fun side to watch next season.
