There is a lot of hope in the towns of Jalen Branson and Karl Anthony when the New York Knicks hired Mike Brown as their next head coach.
The New York Knicks made major changes this offseason and started out as head coach. After five years of service, the Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau, despite his extremely successful tenure.
After a long search, the franchise has identified a successor to Thibodeau. The Knicks hired Mike Brown as head coach.
Long before his arrival, Jalen Branson approved Mike Brown as coach. Since then, the Knicks have grown from strength to strength.
The Knicks were unable to seduce Durbin Hamm to become an assistant coach, but they put together a rather strong staff for Brown.
But one NBA insider believes that two Knicks superstars Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns must deliver well under the new head coach.
David Dennis Jr. spoke about the New York Knicks on ESPN in the NBA today. When Mike Brown discussed how he could make the most of this team, he pointed out their superstars.
Dennis Jr. pointed out Karl Anthony Towns and Jalen Branson, who responded to the achievements of Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal in the playoffs, saying things need to be taken to another level under Mike Brown.
“I think the best duo in the East and the second best duo in the league are actually Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns.
“Last season, offensively, especially when we got that pick and roll, they couldn’t stop, and they didn’t make full use of it.
“Now you’re going to take Mike Brown to that organization, move the ball and go a little more with pick-and-roll and those handoffs.
“We’ve already seen them at their height. Those guys each had five 20-point games in one series. We haven’t seen it since Shaq and Kobe.
“They’ll level up offensively this year, become the second best duo in the league and the best duo in the Eastern Conference.”
An anonymous New York Knicks executive spoke to Spotlack’s Keith Smith about their recent signatures and how they could help them reach the NBA Finals next season.
“The apron didn’t do much for us, but we managed to land a really good big guy on Gershon (Yabsere) and an experienced backup guard in Jordan (Clarkson).
“We’re close. We were already there. Now I think we’re even closer. This is a great group and the additions we’ve made will push us even further.”
The Knicks were able to protect their best players while bringing much needed reinforcements.
Both Clarkson and Jabsere gave the Knicks the bench goals they desperately needed last season. Hope the Knicks become a dominant force in a wide open Eastern Conference.
