The Knicks won Game 2 in Boston in a dramatic way with the Celtics, making NBA playoff history in the process.
The New York Knicks once again surprised the NBA world, winning 91-90 against the Boston Celtics in Game 2. They won both games on the road of TD Garden.
This was a pure team victory for the Knicks, with four players scoring over 14 points. Jalen Brunson scored 17 points in the evening, with Josh Hart leading with 23.
The team turned 20 with two minutes remaining in the third quarter, but they fought back. A 30-17 fourth quarter performance led them to climb the mountain and earned a significant victory.
After they scored Game 1 with awe-inspiring NBA fans with a 20-point comeback, Tom Thibodeau’s team did it again. This is the first time in playoff history that a team has won a 20-point comeback in a row.
The Celtics were champions and it looked unstoppable for the last two seasons. Things seem to be tough as New York has a 2-0 lead and two games in the coming.
Paul Pierce changed the series’ predictions and highlighted Boston to win the series, but fans don’t think it will happen.
“They may not be able to come back,” fans told social media. “The Knicks did something unthinkable again, I’m literally shaking,” another said.
The third fan said, “The Knicks are going to the NBA Finals!!!” Another one is, “Imagine getting a 20-point lead at home in the playoffs. The Celtics are a scam.”
One fan encapsulated the senses after the game, writing, “I can’t even maintain the NGL because the playoffs are being cooked this year.”
Jason Tatum has been criticized for being “very poor” for his role in the loss of Game 1. If anything, Game 2 has somehow gotten worse for him and the team.
Tatum only had 13 points, and none of the Celtics had scored more than 20 points in the game. The team again shot 25% from the 3-point range and lost a 30-pointer.
Boston can’t afford to lose another game. Game 3 is now a must-see as the NBA playoff history teams returned after falling 3-0 in the series.
The Knicks are currently in good control over the series. But they need to ensure that they are not complacent when they return to New York and that their team will focus on getting the job done.
