One player between ACE Bailey and VJ Edgecombe stood out in the NBA Summer League clash.
VJ Edgecombe and Ace Bailey recently fought each other during the Philadelphia 76ers vs Utah Jazz game in the Salt Lake City Summer League.
All eyes were in the high octane game, especially following Bailey’s NBA draft fiasco. After the dust settled, the Jazz left with a 93-89 victory over the 76ers.
But when it comes to Edgecombe vs Bailey Battle, the former dominates the latter.
Edgecombe finished the night with 28 points, 10 rebounds and four assists from the 76ers. Meanwhile, Bailey struggled with just eight points, seven rebounds and one assist.
Bailey was awful from the floor as he shot one of the terrible ones from the 3-point line only three-thirds from the field.
After an overwhelming summer league debut, Bailey faced major flack from NBA fans on X.
“Ace will be a bust… I’ll call it here first,” fans wrote. Another was added, but “I don’t think Ace is a bust. He just doesn’t want to play for Utah.”
“Ace has been released on bail,” the third fan added.
“The media will eat this boy,” one fan warned Ace.
“The Six dodged the bullet by not drafting Bailey Lol,” the fifth fan pointed out.
“Ace looked terrible,” the sixth fan announced.
All things considered, many fans loved seeing Bailey struggle with his summer league debut. Unfortunately, Bailey has no one but blames this reception.
A few weeks before the 2025 NBA Draft, Bailey was expected to be the top three pick in his class. He even had pre-draft training scheduled for the 76ers.
But they cancelled and plunged Bailey’s draft stock when he fell to the jazz in the fifth place. Bailey seemed to be in the end, but he made clear his attitude that he was chosen by Utah.
“I mean, I’m blessed to be in this position. I can’t sit in these chairs and have the great teammates I’ve been on. They came with me.
Whether Bailey was excited to play for the Jazz, the reality is that he is now a member of the team.
Now it’s up to him to clear his image and control him like his favorite NBA player. Playing well in the summer league is a great first step in that process.
