The New York Knicks signed PJ Tucker to a two-year extension after being impressed with his contributions.
PJ Tucker signed with the New York Knicks on a 10-day contract after becoming a free agent following the trade deadline. He had begun his season with the Clippers before being abandoned by the Raptors a few days after a crazy turn in early February.
According to Shams Charania, the Knicks chose to sign Tucker until the end of the season. There is a team option to extend the contract for the 2025-26 season.
The move adds a veteran presence to the team for the playoffs. However, opinions among fans are divided. I think this is only two minutes, considering Tucker has only played one game so far.
Last week, Knicks star Josh Hart spoke about the important leadership PJ Tucker has brought to his team.
He explained that Tucker offers the Knicks a role that will help them hold players accountable, be vocal and find out what some of the starters lack.
“He’s great in that he’s speaking up, talking to guys individually and doing them.
“I think he and we all struggle to find the right time to deal with certain things and hold them accountable. In a group setting, I think that’s something everyone is trying to understand.”
And with the announcement of the deal, many fans expressed how impressed they were with the deal signing Tucker.
“Good guy, good player,” one fan said, and another added:
“Good leadership in stretch runs,” another added. Fourth Written: “Amazing, Amazing Locker Room Man.”
Another fan simply wrote: Another fan pointed out what he might be able to offer on the court, adding, “His defense and corners will definitely come to the clutch.”
Others say one New York Knicks fan who has chosen to sign PJ Tucker “How are you continuing the deal?”
In one person’s writing, “A two-year deal? Leon isn’t serious,” and “A two-year contract to become a cheerleader,” he pointed out the length of the contract.
In another tough take, I saw fans writing. “He’s doing this robbery without a ski mask.
Another person simply said, “We’ll just add him to the coaching staff.”
Few Knicks fans will make reservations about him returning for the next season if Tucker makes a valuable contribution through the playoffs. Otherwise, the fact that the contract is merely an option gives New York some wiggling room.
