Max Christie had to compete in challenging situations on a night ruled by Luka Donsic.
It proved to be an emotional night to return to face the Dallas Mavericks, a city that Luca Donsic once called her hometown.
Donsic dropped 45 points and proved to the Mavericks that he made the big mistake of trading him for the LA Lakers at the deadline.
On the other side, many were hoping Anthony Davis would actually cover up Doncic and face the Lakers for the first time.
It was a difficult night for Davis. Davis had 11 rebounds and six assists, but only managed 13 points as the Mavericks lost 97-112.
Although Anthony Davis’s total production volume was disappointing, Max Christie contributed what he had hoped for.
Christie added three rebounds and three assists to his performance from the bench with 11 points and Davis just two points.
The former Laker is more known for his defense, and he is always competitive when he plays and somehow impressed to see the fans.
“Max Christie was very solid,” he wrote. He also added, “Max Christie, yeah, he’s something special.”
The couple compared it to Anthony Davis’ performance.
“Max Christie is the one who told the Lakers: ‘Did you trade me?’, posted another.
Another fan agreed, “Max Christie was really good on both sides of the ball.”
The outrage towards Nico Harrison, the general manager of the Dallas Mavericks, is evident shortly after the trade, and it has not subsided.
Fans chanted “Fire Nico” at various points throughout the contest, and unfortunately for Max Christie, it came when he was taking free throws. He missed both.
One viewer wrote:
Also, there have been some modest things about Christie’s performance from Lakers fans, but it’s still sad that he is one of the players sacrificed in the trade.
“Max Christie is very crafty. I wish he had more time with the Lakers,” he wrote.
And another post, hopefully: “Max Christie will become a Laker again and go home as soon as possible.”
