There’s a new look on the UFC 316 main card after former berator Bantamweight Champion Patchy Mix signed the promotion and immediately accepted a short notification fight on June 7 pay-per-view.
The updated five-match main card was revealed Saturday night after Marlon “Chito” Bella fell off the card due to an injury in training.
There, the mix came in in the battle with Mario Bautista as the bantamweight joined the stacked cards heading to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Not only will the fight serve as an octagon debut in the mix, but the ultimate Bellator 135-pound champion has the opportunity to prove that he belongs to the best of the best while winning top 15 opponents in his debut.
Of course, the main event of UFC 316 will remain the same as Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili defending the belt in a rematch with Sean O’Malley. dvalishvili abdicated O’Malley when they met in September last year, but will run again when they meet on June 7th.
The joint main event governs women’s bantamweight champion Juliana Pena with two-time Olympic judo gold medalist Kaela Harrison. Since signing with the UFC, Harrison is 2-0, including a victory over former champion Holly Holm, and will try to add money to his resume when he faces Pena at UFC 316.
The rest of the main card includes Kelvin Gastherm, who is headed to middleweight Joe Piffer and Kevin Holland on June 7th.
Full orders outside the main card have not yet been decided.
