Newcastle was ready to sell Kieran Trippier as Monaco near the end of the transfer window this summer, but the 35-year-old right-back refused the move. In the final season of his contract at St. James Park, he can talk to clubs outside of England over a potential free transfer starting January 1st.
However, according to the local Newcastle outlet chronicle, manager Eddie Howe leaves the stance that Trippier is a very important player on his team. He lost his position in Starting XI in a recent match, but the veteran defender is set to make a comeback after Tino Livlament was injured in Arsenal’s loss on Sunday.
So, howe could be in a situation similar to that of Calm Wilson at the end of last season, not to mention the possibility of a situation in which the striker signed a contract based on appearance incentives and joined West Ham as a free agent.
