Newcastle United reportedly are considering a new badge for the club, but they will need to seek approval before making any changes due to the estate rules introduced by the free agency.

Newcastle is currently consulting with fans about the potential changes to Club Crest.

FA rules can prevent changes

The FA rules were introduced in 2022. This prevents the club from making major changes to the club’s heritage without receiving approval from fans.

It will be interesting to see if Newcastle can secure agreement with the fan base on future changes.

The Premier League Giants have issued a statement claiming they are not trying to separate from the club’s past. But they feel that the club’s coat of arms requires thoughtful evolution.

It will be interesting to see how things develop over the next few weeks.

Newcastle feels that the club badges are designed in a different era, and are not translated well in today’s world. It’s clear they’re trying to modernize clubs on and off the pitch.

Their statement read: “This is not about moving away from our past, it is about taking pride in moving it forward.

“The coat of arms are part of our story. It is on our shirts and engraved on our skin. It deserves thoughtful evolution, shaped by the voices of people who love it.

“This is not a decision we underestimate. We love the coat of arms. It was symbolic and we stood up to us through unforgettable victory and test times.

“But it was created in another era. Its intricate designs don’t always translate well in today’s digital world.”

It is still unknown if fans are accepting the idea.
