Alexander Isaac has completed the deadline move from Newcastle United to Liverpool.
The Premier League champions paid their UK transfer record fee to approximately £125 million to complete the transaction. He signed a long-term contract with the club.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Newcastle insiders feel that players have been working on the move for several months.
Newcastle insider on ISAK integrity
They feel that Newcastle has failed to qualify for the Champions League as players feel that they are intentionally underperforming. Apparently, Isak felt that securing Champions League qualification would make it difficult to leave the club in the summer.
Such accusations are unfounded and frankly outrageous. Questioning the integrity of the players who helped Newcastle win their first trophy in decades crosses the dangerous line. While there is no doubt that the way players were able to ensure movement was not an expert, it is unacceptable for him to deliberately claim to be poorly performed to interfere with the team’s season.
Swedish International was the second top scorer in the Premier League season, and was one of the main reasons they secured Champions League qualifiers and won the English League Cup. Despite his attitude over the past few weeks, he remains one of their best players in the club’s recent history.
Can Alexander Isaac silence his critics?
It will be interesting to see if the 25-year-old can now hit the ground running at his new club. He hopes to win a major trophy against Liverpool. There is no doubt that he took Newcastle as much as he could. He had to join a larger club to win the league title or the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool has had great teams at their disposal, allowing them to win the league title last season. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to go all the way again.
