Newcastle is desperate to sign at least one striker before the transfer window closes next summer. If Alexander Isaac leaves, two will be needed, but once things stand, he will remain.
Yoane Wissa is a leading candidate to join Newcastle, who tried to drive the move from Brentford. At the same time, officials at St. James Park are considering other options, one of which is the wolf Jorgenstrandlersen.
Strand Larsen, who reportedly agreed to personal terms with Newcastle, was impressed with his first Premier League campaign in 2024-25, scoring 14 goals for the Wolves. And it gave him a move to the northeast, but it is unlikely that he will leave Molyneux at this point.
Newcastle has been postponed by Jorgen Strand Larsen for a price
As reported by Football Insider, the deal that Strandlersen will join Newcastle appears to be increasingly unlikely as the wolves are reluctant to sell.
The wolves paid a total of £25 million to sign Strand Larsen from La Liga’s Celta Vigo. So sales represent very good profits. However, considering that they have already raised funds from sales of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri at the beginning of the summer, there is no need for Molineux officials to organize the deal.
Strand Larsen is not said to be close to the top of Newcastle’s potential striker list despite reports of agreement on personal terms. For now, it appears they will continue to try for Wissa, but if Isaac joins Liverpool in the next few days, it will open the door for negotiations to take place with the wolves – though they are not easy.
