Newcastle is aiming to make a significant signature this summer, aiming for one area to be addressed in the central defense. Someone was brought in to compete with Sven Botman, Dan Burn, Fabian Schar and others, and one player linked to the move to St. James Park is Dean Huygen.
Apparently destined to leave Bournemouth in a season, Huyssen has attracted strong interest from many Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool. Newcastle also counts herself in the race, but that may not be the case for too long.
Newcastle hopes to miss out on signing Dean Huyssen
According to IPAPER (via Geordie Boot Boys), Newcastle is beginning to believe that after recent discussions with his representatives he will not sign Huijsen. Their feelings are that despite the fact that Spanish International can meet his three requirements, they are looking elsewhere.
Huijsen is reported after a considerable wage at his next club, regular minutes, Champions League football, and Newcastle is able to give him these. But nonetheless, they believe the players are more interested in other clubs.
Huijsen would have been the perfect candidate to add to Newcastle’s younger backline, which already features Botman, Lewis Hall and Tino Livrament. But now there is more and more chance they will see elsewhere. The good news for Eddie Howe and sports director Paul Mitchell is that there are plenty of options to choose from in places where there is significantly less competition, but that’s to choose the right players.
