Former Newcastle United midfielder Johann Cavey has urged the club to add more quality and depth to their teams during the summer transfer by signing Kevin De Bruin and Brian Mbeumo.

The former Newcastle midfielder believes Magpies will need more depth and attack in the midfield if they want to fight for next season’s league title and do well in the UEFA Champions League.

Newcastle is seeking Champions League qualification, and it remains to be seen whether he will be able to finish in the top four.

Will Bryan Mbeumo move to a card?

They were urged to make the move for Brentford attacker Brian Mbeumo. Cameroon International is an outstanding player for the London Club, contributing 28 goals this season.

He will be looking to play for a big club in the future, and Newcastle could be an interesting opportunity. He’s been praised for being “unplayable.” Mbeumo is located on the radar of multiple clubs.

If they can secure their qualifications for the Champions League, they will be an attractive destination for players.

“Newcastle will challenge the title next season and if they play in the Champions League, they will likely need a bigger team,” Kabey told Team Talk.

“They need to improve their team depth and are players like Brian Mbeumo. Why? He can bring energy to offensive options.”

Newcastle told Kevin de Bruin to sign

Meanwhile, he urged Newcastle to make the move for Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruin. The Belgian was out of contract in the summer and he was able to prove that it was an exceptional acquisition with a free transfer. He helps players like Alexander Isaac create opportunities to acquire goals. His leadership skills and victory experience could also prove to be invaluable.

Cabaye said: “I think Kevin de Bruyne is one of the players in another class in the Premier League. 33, but he could still be decisive.

Newcastle has to try and improve its team in the summer, and signing two players will allow them to take it to a whole new level.
