Octagon rookie Jakub Wikłacz surprised Patchy Mix at UFC 320, winning a split decision victory over the former Bellator star.
After eating his right hand from the first right hand, Mix appeared to win his ground game, earning a solid takedown against the Polish rookie. However, the success of the mix did not last long. Wiquwatts quickly reversed positions and mounted the mix with enough time left on the clock.
The Wiquwatts controlled the rest of the round and eventually moved to side control, landing some solid shots.
Sporting some nasty swelling on top of his right mix, finding some success in the second mix, mixing his impressive ones together, ensuring some solid takedowns. Wiquwatts did a good job of stepping in every single time, but the relentless grappling of the mix began wearing it as a former KSW champion.
Wiquwatts tried to steal the round with a firm knee to the clinch, but a bit of dirty boxing from the mix could have sent us into the third round with all the fight tied up.
After a predominant round on the mat, the mix returned to grappling and landed the takedown early. It seemed enough to lock the rounds in and secure a much needed victory within the Octagon. However, the judge does not seem to agree.
Official Results: JakubWikłaczDef. Patch mix with division decisions (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).
