Nico Harrison is the fall man of Patrick Dumont’s decision, one ESPN analyst said, predicting his future in the role.
Nico Harrison continues to alienate the Dallas Mavericks fanbase with his actions. It’s bad enough that he traded Luka Donsic for the Los Angeles Lakers.
But everything he said and did since then only checked his fanbase further. The recent tactics of Harrison’s private press conference have not been working well in Dallas.
During the meeting, Harrison shunned little insight into the decision to trade Don Sic, repeatedly claiming that the defense had won the championship.
And after disregarding both Dirk Nowitzki and Mark Cuban, Harrison just kept digging deeper holes.

The two who gained weight on the issue were ESPN’s amnesty hosts Michael Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser.
Wilbon argued that Nico Harrison was the frontman of the decision and that the Mavericks’ ownership was liable.
Michael Wilbon: “What else should he say? ‘I regret the deal’ is it two months after I made it?
“I shouldn’t say the new Dallas owners weren’t front and center towards this. I think Nico is just absorbing a lot of slings and arrows for the owner.”
Tony Cornheiser: “I said the day it happened he was fired and it would be fast. I think he would be fired.”

It’s hard to see Nico Harrison’s job safe for both fans and senior management eyes. Ownership would not have expected the kind of pushback they received from Dongsi’s deal.
And to appease fans from being mad at this deal, they may choose to remove Nico as a ritual gesture.
But what if Harrison could regain their trust? Kendrick Perkins believes Harrison Landing Kevin Durant is enough to do that.
But as great as Kevin Durant, he becomes a band-aid that covers the flesh scars Harrison has given to the Mavericks fanbase in Don Chic’s trade.
