The Los Angeles Lakers enjoy handing out Slovenian superstars on a platter, but Paul Pierce says Nico Harrison isn’t the biggest problem.
Luka Doncic Trade is set to dominate the debate for years to come, and it will be a hot pitch as the Los Angeles Lakers advance in the playoffs.
The Dallas Mavericks traded him to win the championship in Nico Harrison’s words. However, Maverick is on Play-In Scrap, but the Lakers are their first round favorites against the Timberwolves.
Harrison has caught many Flacks for Donsic’s deal, and while his own comments were not very helpful, Paul Pierce has identified much deeper issues in the deal that are worrisome to multiple NBA teams.
Despite the fact that Harrison and the Mavericks are thought to be meant to make fans believe, it’s hard to agree with the notion that any team in the league is better by not having Luka Donsic.
When Donsic arrives and quickly moves up the rankings, it is clear that the Lakers will also see the Lakers.
Pierce spoke on the Skip Bayless Show and agreed with Bayless that Harrison’s reasoning behind the Doncic trade made sense despite the poor success.
Bayless said: “Nico Harrison was betting this year and next year to turn the ads and Kylie and Switch, but it went straight out the window (due to injuries). He doubled this year, broke and broke.
Pierce agreed to Bayless and said that despite Harrison being “arrested,” the real problem lies elsewhere.
He states: “What does this say about ownership? Think about two new owners (Dallas and Phoenix).
“They don’t know much about the game. They just want to make a splash, and it doesn’t look good. We need more people around the game to get into more ownership groups because it’s just bad.”
Pierce makes an interesting point that is often lost in argument and hatred that Mavericks GM may be the face of the owner’s decision.
Mark Cuba’s clear support for Donsic was almost mythical at this point, and Harrison was in Dallas even from his time.
So why did Doncic trade after the change of ownership when GM was not changed? This indicates that it is a decision promoted by the owner.
It was entirely possible that Harrison led the decision on this, this was bubbled up beneath the surface, and only Cuba had stopped it.
However, as Harrison has become the face of this farsie decision, the owner is almost running away to Scott Free.
Imagine that the theory of conspiracy makes trades so bad that it sounds more true than sporting reasons!
