Dallas Mavericks’ Chastity Night Night as Luka Donsic highlighted why he should never have been allowed to leave.
For weeks, the Dallas Mavericks have been criticized for trading generations of talent and sending Luka Donsic out the door.
Luka Doncic returned to the American Airlines Center and scored 45 points in the Lakers’ victory. He was shed tears before the game by the video package, but he was a ruthless assassin on the court.
This was a difficult watch for Nico Harrison, the highly criticized Dallas Mavericks general manager who approved trade.

Nico Harrison was present to watch the Dallas Mavericks suffer in the defeat of the 97-112 home at the hands of inspired Luka Donsic.
Unlike his appearance on the Lakers’ roads, where the two teams wore outstanding sky blue suits, Harrison was far more reserved.
He wasn’t sitting in the game, unlike Lakers counterpart Rob Perlinka, who had the front row view of the game.
Harrison was placed in a tunnel surrounded by security and could be present looking, but not distracted.
He had to endure “Fire Nico” chants from Mavericks fans throughout the game, and participants expressed dissatisfaction with his decision to trade Don Sic.
Harrison has remained emotionless all along, and he has no doubt seen the situation and wondered if it was all worth it. Anthony Davis scored just 13 points.
Nico Harrison didn’t enjoy the experience, but one veteran NBA expert respects the fact that he was not only present, but also fully public.
Alan Hearn wrote to X:
“It was a melting pot, and he faced it like a man. How many others would hide behind?”
That’s a fair question, but if Nico Harrison hadn’t been present, it would have been massacre and it would have been the poor look of the Dallas Mavericks.
Former MAVS owner Mark Cuban recently revealed a conversation with Harrison before the trade. This is what I was excited to learn that the decision was made to send Luka Donsic.
During the game, Cuba was able to see fans squealing at the “FireNico” chants and shaking their heads. All of this seems very avoidable for the Mavericks, and this can take a long time to recover.
