Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets were short in the Western Conference semi-finals, but he had an epic individual season.

This past season has had one distinct difference between two MVP candidates, Nikola Jokic and Shaigill Gas Alexander.

Gilgeous-Alexander was at the heart of a 68-win team, everyone knew their role and fitted seamlessly into Mark Daigenoux’s coaching vision.

Nikola Djokic was not supported, but the one who held the Denver Nuggets together. His elite talent had to deal with his coach and general manager being fired three games before the playoffs.

Djokic’s Denver eventually fell to the OKC Thunder of SGA in Game 7 of the series, but this was not a Serbian knock, which averaged 28.4 points per game during playoff battles.

Shy Gilgauss Alexander was later named MVP. Trust him. But the most complete player in the NBA today is Nikola Jokic.

This is a statement supported by the data, and Nikola Jokic is the dominant leader of the triple double of this past season.

Jokic scored over 10 points, rebounds and assisted in a staggering 34 incredible games this season.

The numbers show that Jokic’s 34 triple doubles dominated over his peers.

Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded the second highest total in 11. Lebron James and Domantas Sabonis each scored 10.

Cade Cunningham and Josh Hart each have nine triple doubles, Josh Giddey scored a seven, while Luka Doncic added a five.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did not manage a single triple double last season and only posted two throughout his career.

Nicola Djokic finished the 2024-25 regular season and averaged triple doubles for the first time in his career.

Jokic averaged 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game. It was an incredible output from a unique player.

He became the first player to average a triple double of the season since teammate Russell Westbrook, and the former OKC star managed to do so four times.
