The 24-year-old Denver Nuggets star receives great praise from Nikola Jokic after a Game 7 victory.
Despite dealing with manager Michael Malone’s shooting before the 2025 NBA playoffs, the Denver Nuggets did not allow them to affect concentration.
It was proven when they came out on top of the Los Angeles Clippers after they fought it in the scary 7-game opening round series.
Russell Westbrook and Jamal Murray played roles throughout the series, but team captain Nikolajokic assured him that he would give another important Nuggets player a flower.
In key game 7, six nugget players finished the game with double-digit scoring, including third-year guard Christian Brown.
Brown’s score certainly helped the Nuggets advance to the second round, but Jokic praised the 24-year-old for one of his underrated qualities.
“Winner, we know he’s there. A 50-50 player, the ball is always in his hands.
He added: “Shoot the ball, shoot the ball… we believe him. He’s offensive, annoying, he knows what to do and, like I said, he’s a winner, he accepts the role.”
To put things in perspective, Brown shot over 50% in his third straight game. It’s clear he’s working on filming rates.
Brown was on the Nuggets’ 2023 NBA Championship roster, but he was still a rookie.
Brown also had a solid sophomore season, but he really made a leap to the next level this season. Brown averaged 15.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game, shooting 58.0% from the field and 39.7% from the 3-point line.
Brown’s numbers have dropped slightly into the playoffs, but he still contributed 12.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in the first round.
It’s clear that Brown will play a key role if the Nuggets want to lift the glorious Larry O’Brien Trophy at the end of the postseason.
