Nicolo Brega’s victory in Race 2 at the Czech Worldsub required “everything” to keep the pace of Toprack Razgatrioglu.

Brega led the opening lap in Race 2, but Razga Trioglu passed around half a distance and maintained a gap of about 0.6 seconds until the last few laps when grip levels were reduced.

Brega then dragged the real-world superbike champion onto the line, with Razgatriogul saying his bike had been cut out twice from the final corner.

“Incredibly, Toprak (Razgatlioglu) had more races, so his pace was stronger than mine, so I was trying to chase him, pushing 200% up every lap.”

“(half), he gave me less than a second, but I never gave up and I tried to heal him again.

“I knew I could get something more on the last two or three laps. On the last lap, I put everything on the table. I was really at the limit, so it was incredible. This was impossible for me.

“The last laps are all sideways, spinning, traction control, all very strange, but very nice.”

Brega took a step forward on the bike from Super Pole Race to Race 2 on Sunday morning, but added that he wasn’t completely comfortable yet at the Razgatrioguru pace.

“The top rack is very strong and maybe stronger than me because on some parts of the circuit I was fighting a bit with the bike so I couldn’t ride it the way I wanted,” he said.

“But honestly, we took a step from Super Pole Race to Race 2. My bike got a little better, but it wasn’t enough to be comfortable on the top rack.

“Anyway, the most important thing is the end result.

“Most of them aren’t the best tracks for my riding style, nor are they the best tracks for bikes. We prefer long, fast corners, which is very small and slow.

He won at best, so for two rounds in a row after Cremona, that Brega won on a circuit that felt unsuitable for his style.

“It’s really good that winning a race is always special, but winning here isn’t our favorite track,” Brega said.

“It’s special to beat him here because we know it’s one of Top Rack’s favorite tracks, because we took a step forward from last year, just like we did in Cremona and the last race.

“This is very important for the championship, but the championship is very long and we still have a lot of races in the final race. Well, the other one is better, but now we’re not thinking about the championship.”
