Nicolo Brega faces the top-lack Gatriogul on a 26-point deficit at France’s Worldsub this weekend (September 5-7), but the Italians will enter optimistically in the 2025 round of nine.
Brega was the winner of the 2024 Manny Course twice, despite injury to his collarbone in a race 1 crash.
“I’m a magician and I have good and bad memories,” Nicolo Brega told worldsbk.com on Thursday ahead of the French round.
“Race 1 (2024) wasn’t the best because I crashed on the first lap and broke my collarbone. After that, I won both races as Super Pole Race and Race 2 were much better.
“This is my favorite track and I’m competitive and I try to do my best.”
The Italians won’t win the most from Race 1 this year. Razgatriogul, who won all races after Race 2, is counted among his favorites in eight previous wins on world superbikes.
“Well, last year, Toprak (Razgatlioglu) crashed (FP2) and unfortunately injured, so I didn’t race on the weekend, so I wasn’t riding here.”
“But we know he’s always very strong here, so we certainly expect him to be very strong this weekend as well.
“But anyway, we’re strong too, so I think we’re competitive and we can stay ahead.”
Bulega has been successful in Magny Cours in the past, but it is the track that will appear in the last three rounds and may be a good deal to Razgatlioglu’s recent form.
“The final race wasn’t good for me or the bike because the slow corners aren’t perfect for me or the bike,” he said.
“So I hope there are already some turns here that are a little more open and faster, but the next race will be good for me and the bike, especially.
“So I’m very motivated to get faster.”
