One of Nikola Djokic’s teammates, from Serbia, believes one of his biggest assets is not spoken well.
Nikola Zhokic is one of the greatest players in basketball history and is still at his prime. The Serbian sense leaves a big mark on the sport.
After a difficult season with the Denver Nuggets, Jokic joined the Serbian national team ahead of the important Eurobasket tournament.
Jokic has already impressed fans with his athleticism. And as he and the Serbian national team prepare a string of equipment, his teammates speak very high about him.
In particular, NBA star Bogdan Bogdanovic has gushed out about Djokic, identifying weapons in the armory, making it very difficult to stop him.
Bogdan Bogdanovic recently spoke with FIBA (via BasketNews) about playing with Nikola Djokic for the Serbian national team.
Jokic’s court vision and pass are unparalleled, but Bogdanovic believes his motor and conditioning make him a great teammate and makes him a very easy game to play.
“I think everyone knows his IQ and feels the game, but I think what really makes him special is his basketball shape for his size, his ability to run and his conditioning.
“His front vision. He feels like he knows what’s going to happen. It probably gives me the best confidence I’ve been able to play with someone else.”
Jokic looks great on the Serbian national team, delivering 19 performances with 23 points against Greece in his recent warm-up game.
Speaking further in the interview, Bogdanovic also described Serbia’s status as a favorite to win the Eurobasket tournament.
“I think it’s a privilege to be a tournament leader and be the focus of a tournament, meaning it’s another challenge in life.
“We’ve already gone through that, hopefully this time it’s a better result.”
With the roster they have now, Serbia is an absolute favorite to win the tournament. With the depth of their team, they have all the tools to go all the way.
However, since tournaments are not won by paper, you need to play high-level basketball to get the job done. Stay tuned for NBA analysis for coverage of the Eurobasket tournament.
