Factory No. 6 Porsche Pensuke 963 is disqualified as it does not comply with the minimum weight requirements and is qualified for Le Mans for 24 hours.
Porsche’s team manager was summoned to the steward following the opening segment of the qualifying round for alleged violations of Section 4.1 of the technical regulations, which stipulates the minimum weight limit for each vehicle in the qualifying round.
In a squatting ring check that revealed that the 6th Porsche was underweight, the steward informed Porsche of his decision to send the car behind the hypercar field.
Kevin Esther originally qualified for the 6th Porsche, which he shares with Lawrence Vantor and Matt Campbell in fourth place.
It is the most placed Porsche in the session, no. 5963 came in 7th place, with an additional 4th place in 14th place.
The greatest benefit from the removal of the 6th Porsche is the 009 Aston Martin of Alex Liberas, Marco Sorensen and Rome de Angelis’ Valkyrie.

“The technical check was conducted at the end of the qualifying session with the presence of team representatives,” he said. “So after examining the technical delegation reports, the stewards thought that the minimum vehicle weight was not compliant with the relevant regulations.
“During the hearing, the team manager confirmed and accepted the scrutiny and measurement procedures. As a result, the steward decided to impose disqualification of car 6 from the qualifying session. Car 6 starts from behind the grid in his category in accordance with the supplementary regulations of the LE man for Article 10.2.2 hours of Article 10.2.2 of 2025.”
“As a result, the Steward has determined that the competitors classified behind car 6 at the end of the qualifying session will rise in classification in accordance with Article 12.19 of the FIA Sports Code.
“We recall that our competitors have the right to appeal a particular Steward decision within the applicable time limits, pursuant to Article 15 of the FIA International Sports Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules.”
