Chelsea reportedly decided not to sell Enzo Fernandez this summer despite interest from Real Madrid.
According to Sky Sports, Argentina International was the long-term goal for the Los Blancos, but the Blues are not going to allow £110 million signatures.
Fernandez has become a key player for Chelsea since his big money travel from Benfica a few years ago.
Still, it makes sense that Chelsea sees Fernandez as someone who doesn’t want to lose, and it’s easy to see why big clubs like Madrid are interested in him.
Enzo Fernandez is the key to the success of this Chelsea project
Even if Fernandez has struggled to hit top form with the Chelsea shirt so far, he is certainly one of the most likely players on this team and can help the team rise to level.
There is great potential in the midfield partnership with Moises Caiceto, and with a lot of money invested in both players, it would be wise for the CFC to stick with them a little longer.
Some of Chelsea’s other recent signatures are probably more concerning, with Robert Sanchez, Nicholas Jackson, Micailo Mudrick, Pedro Neto, Joa Felix and Jadon Sancho doing not do enough to justify the faith in West London.
Enzo Fernandez is ideal for the midfield in Real Madrid
This isn’t something Chelsea news fans would want to hear, but Fernandez appears to fit this side of Real Madrid.
It’s an annoying campaign at the Bernabeu, and the club sees it as desperately in need of a long-term successor to Toni Kruz after retiring last summer.
Fernandez is not yet perfect in that category yet, but he provides something different from their current midfield with passing range and intelligence on the ball.
