Liverpool was confirmed as the Premier League champions on Sunday after Tottenham’s 5-1 demolition at Anfield. So it was a rather disastrous afternoon for Man United icon Gary Neville.
Neville was in charge of collusion for the match, but was also involved in pre-match buildup along with presenters David Jones and critics Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Redknap. He had planned to return with them when the full-time whistle was blown away, but he made it clear he would soon leave Anfield if Liverpool got the results he needed to confirm as England’s new champion.

It was a great season for Liverpool, even if there was a shortage in the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup. Arne Slot does very few managers who win their debut campaign when coming to the Premier League. And the job for him and his players is to follow up on it in 2025-26.
The Premier League effectively ended for Liverpool despite having four more Premier League fixtures. Supporters’ attention may be heading towards the summer transfer window, which opens in June. Slot teams are expected to undergo significant changes, with the likes of Darwinnes and Lewis Diaz being tipped as players who can leave. And if they don’t, the upgrade will be pursued by sports director Richard Hughes.
