A 1-0 loss to PSG earlier this week means Arsenal is facing a tough job to reach the Champions League final. The gunners will go to Parc des Princes next Wednesday and win with at least two goals to ensure their position at the showpiece event, which will be held on May 31st in Munich.
If Arsenal didn’t do this, it would mean another trophyless season. That’s why there is pressure on Manager Mikel Arteta. Mikel Arteta has already been asked about the decision he made during the PSG defeat.
If Arsenal falls to a PSG defeat, Colliemore seeks Arteta’s scrutiny
In an exclusive catch-offside column, Stan Colliemore stated his belief that Arsenal could overcome PSG next week, but if not, he should be entrusted with the question of Arteta.
“In a one-off game, Arsenal has a chance to overturn the overall score against PSG, but it’s going to be very tough. Park De Princess is a difficult stadium to go to, and their fans will have a difficult atmosphere to play.
“But if Arsenal gets knocked out, I think the question needs to be asked about Arteta. When will a manager who has won one FA Cup in six years start to be under pressure because he can’t beat the competition?
“A single trophy for six years, whether it’s a transitional period or not, isn’t enough for a club that’s as ambitious as Arsenal.”
