The Los Angeles defeated the Seattle Mariners 5-3 on Saturday night thanks to a double from Quique Hernandez, who was two runs in the top of the nine innings. LA improved to 92-69 in the year during the penultimate game of the regular season.
Ahead of the final victory, the moved a very important roster as they could potentially strengthen their pitching roster before the postseason. Veteran Southpaw Andrew Heaney has won a 0.90 ERA in four Triple A appearances this season, potentially showing him as a vital piece for the bullpen.
Additionally, slugging’s third base hand Max Muncy has an injury update. The Hot Corner All-Star has handled a considerable number of illnesses this season, but his latest leg injury hasn’t come at a more inconvenient time as the wildcard series sets to begin on Tuesday.
Finally, former right-handed Walker Buhler signed with the Boston Red Sox this past offseason, but was released after a 5.45 ERA in 23 appearances. Now with the NL powerhouse Philadelphia Phillies, Buehler has an ERA of 0.66 in 13.2 innings and touched on the idea that if the two teams meet in the NLCS, they could face his previous team this October.
