The Los Angeles lost catcher Ben Rohrtvedt on waivers to the Cincinnati Reds, but there was no indication that anything was going to happen leading up to it. With injuries to All-Starbucks Will Smith and rookie Dalton Rushing heading into the postseason in September, the backstop played a pivotal role for L.A., starting the first four games of the ‘ eventual World Series.
In other news, LA has publicly stated that they are considering restructuring their roster in preparation for a third consecutive championship, and a major part of that will likely be how to address the bullpen situation. The reportedly have renewed interest in relief pitcher Devin Williams (as he thought he was heading to Los Angeles last offseason), as their inconsistent bullpen will likely be upgraded for 2026.
Finally, the have been linked to an estimated $400 million contract with All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker. The soon-to-be 29-year-old will likely have to deal with outfield depth and lack of production at times, especially after left fielder Michael Conforto had a disappointing season.
