The leading veteran of the Los Angeles has announced that he will retire at the end of next season. Nation’s Doug McCain reported that the 36-year-old not only plans to retire, but wants to retire with the next season.
In other news, southpaw relief pitcher Tanner Scott has suffered a major injury. general manager Brandon Gomez and manager Dave Roberts updated reporters with a new timeline for when fans can expect Scott to return to the mound.
Finally, rookie right-hander Aki Sasaki recently received incredible praise from his manager. Sasaki started the season without living up to expectations, starting the first eight games, but after recovering from a shoulder injury and taking four months off, he’s proving in every way that he’s better than the baseball world expected, and he’s proving it in moments of maximum leverage.
