Ange Postecoglou was appointed manager of Nottingham Forest last month but is already facing the possibility of being sacked. He is yet to win in his seven matches in charge at the City Ground, with two draws and five defeats in all competitions.
There has been much speculation about Postecoglou’s possible dismissal as manager, with 2025 being the second time since he was released by Tottenham at the end of last season. Forest officials are monitoring the situation and, in the meantime, are eyeing an ideal successor.
Nottingham Forest want Sean Dyche as next manager
According to Mick Brown (via Football Insider), Forest are set to appoint Sean Dyche as Postecoglou’s replacement should he be relieved of his managerial duties.
“Forest are in a difficult situation at the moment. They had a great season last season and did really well, but I think it’s fair to say they played better than us.
“Now, all of a sudden, they’ve fallen a little bit short. There was a falling out between Nuno and the owners, he was sacked and Postecoglou came in. I didn’t think he was going to answer their prayers and the problems he had at Tottenham have come out again at Forest, so now the pressure is on him.”
“If they were to make any further changes, Sean Dyche seems to have emerged as the frontrunner to make that, which makes a lot of sense. He knows the club well, is local and could bring the stability they were missing. I think he would be a much better fit for them than Postecoglou and I think it would be the right decision if they brought him in.”
For now, it looks like Postecoglou will remain in charge, but if Forest’s form doesn’t improve, he could be sacked sooner rather than later.
