Denver Nuggets head coach David Adelman made NBA history after just 10 playoff games.
For the first time since the 2015-16 NBA season, the Denver Nuggets entered the postseason with Michael Malone as head coach.
The Nuggets decided to end their 10-year partnership with Malone just days before the 2025 NBA playoffs.
Longtime Nuggets assistant coach David Adelman buried Malone’s shoes. The decision was met with mixed reviews, but so far, manager Adelman has met the expectations of Denver’s fanbase.
Adelman was the Nuggets’ head coach, who only had three games in the regular season as he led his team to a perfect 3-0 record.
Many people wrote it all together and hoped that the rookie head coach would fail in playoff time. However, Adelmann’s Nuggets retracted a memorable 7-game series victory for the Raclippers in the first round.
Experts then hoped that Adelman’s tactic would fail against the No. 1 seed OKC Thunder in the Western Conference semi-finals. However, the rookie head coach is once again surpassing expectations as the Nuggets currently hold a 2-1 lead following an astounding OT victory in Game 3.
It was also Adelman’s sixth career playoff victory. Along the way, Adelman became the first head coach in NBA history, earning a playoff victory twice as much as his name’s regular season victory.
Unless the Nuggets lose three straight games and are eliminated, Adelman will add more dubs as first-year head coach in the playoffs.
In a game where Nikola Djokic struggled, many expected the Nuggets to succumb to thunder and descend 2-1.
However, thanks to Aaron Gordon’s 3-pointer controlling the game, the Nuggets managed to achieve a 9-point OT victory.
Coach Adelman spoke to the media after the game and explained what the Nuggets did to include Thunder’s Shy Gilgauss Alexander.
All in all, the momentum appears to have momentum as the Nuggets hope to expand their lead in Game 4 and take a step closer to reaching the 2025 Western Conference final.
