Chelsea reportedly are waiting for a response after bidding for Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, a 55 million euro.
Swiss International shined while working in the Bundesliga, and it makes sense that he can now get a bigger move.
According to Fichajes, Chelsea tried to offer Kobel 55 million euros, but it has not yet been accepted.
Still, that’s what the Blues can do with the new goalkeeper next season after continuing their overwhelming display from Robert Sanchez this season.
While Kobel looks like it could be a Sanchez upgrade, Chelsea fans may be worried about signing yet another new “keeper” after many poor decisions in that position recently.
Chelsea are waiting to see if they can succeed in Gregor Kobel’s move.
Sanchez has proven poor signatures by the CFC, but other big names like Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga have also floped at Stamford Bridge.
In the past, the West London giants had world-class shot stoppers like Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois, who were key to team success.
Kobel doesn’t necessarily stand out as someone in the same category, but it seems that Chelsea is really enthusiastic about him.
It will be interesting to see how this saga develops, but we have certainly seen Dortmund cash on their star players in the past.
That means Chelsea has an opportunity to sign Kobel.
The 27-year-old probably looks a bit expensive, so this still seems like a deal that could be a bit of a gamble for Chelsea.
