Crystal Palace Manager Oliver Grasner is working on a story about his future in a report that he is one of the leading candidates for RB Leipzig’s work.
The Bundesliga giants are set to make changes this summer, and are most strongly linked to Palace boss Glasner and Como Manager Cesc Fabregas.
Glasner has done an impressive job during his time at Selhurst Park, playing stylish offensive football while leading the club to this season’s FA Cup final.
The Austrian tactician was previously impressed during his stint, which he was responsible for Anthrachat Frankfurt, so it makes sense that he is now in his eye to return to the Bundesliga at one of Germany’s top clubs.
Oliver Glasner denies consultation with RB Leipzig
Despite the link between Glasner and Leipzig, the 50-year-old appears to be focusing solely on the palace for now.
When asked about his future, Glasner claimed he had not had a discussion with Leipzig, and he had no idea whether he was one of the names on their list.
“There are so many stories written,” Glasner said. “I’m sorry, but I know that’s your job, but much of what I read is not true.
“I’m not talking about my future because everyone here deserves Oliver Glasner’s 100% focus.
“If you expect that from the players and the chairman, then you expect that from Oliver Glasner.
“There is no discussion. I don’t know (if I am the candidate). You have to ask Leipzig, not me.”
The Palace must protect Oliver Glasner
It could be an important summer for the palace. The palace must hold Glasner and some of the star players.
Michael Oris left last summer to join Bayern Munich. This Eagles squad has other big names that look to the bigger club.
Eberechi Eze, Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton are linked to the movement, and I imagine Jean-Philippe Mateta should also be seen.
If they lose Glasner, it certainly only makes it difficult to persuade them to stay with the names of those stars.
