Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner was not happy after the defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Palace manager has labeled the club one of the most competitive teams in the Premier League, and recent results suggest that.
The south London club won the FA Cup and Community Shield this year under his guidance.
However, the manager was not happy with one of the decisions taken by the club’s board and did not hold back in criticizing it after the defeat to Mikel Arteta’s side.
Oliver Glassner sent a subtle message to the board
The foul was committed by Yeremy Pino, which ultimately led to Arsenal’s only goal of the match, scored by former Palace star Ebereshi Eze.
The summer signing has proved difficult to establish in the Premier League, and Glasner believes this is due to the player not having a proper pre-season.
Pino joined the Premier League team from Villarreal on Deadline Day, which is why he was unable to get used to the demands of the game in England.
“It was a stupid foul.” Glassner said, as reported by News Shopper.
“We asked him to double up with Saka. We thought he could win the ball in this situation, but he was a little too slow.
“Everyone has to adapt to the Premier League. Especially coming from Spain, you’re more technical, you’re faster. We knew that.”
“It doesn’t get any easier when the players arrive on deadline day, and the schedule is so tight that they have to learn through the games.
“He will learn, just like any other player. We are Crystal Palace and we must never forget this.”
Crystal Palace delay signing of Elemy Pino
Glassner’s message is clear. The board’s delay in signing Pino is the reason for his poor form.
In his own subtle way, he communicated to the club that timely signings are critical to the team’s performance.
Palace lost to the Gunners, leaving them 10th in the league.
They have not won in the Premier League since beating Liverpool in dramatic fashion late last month thanks to a second-half goal from Eddie Nketiah.
The Eagles next travel to Anfield to take on fellow opponents Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, before facing Brentford at Selhurst Park.
