Andre Onana has responded brilliantly to former Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic after the Serbs suffered trouble with the goalkeeper’s recent comments.
What did Andre Onana say?
Prior to Mann UTD’s Europa League bond with Lyon, Onana felt rebellious when she spoke about the possibility of making the team’s semi-finals.
He said: “We all know the importance of this game. We’ll go there with a victory mentality. We have to go there and show who we are.
“Of course, that’s not easy, but I think we’re way better than them.”

United will be following the new “keeper after the next transfer window…
After spending five years at Old Trafford before departing for Rome, Matic blasted Onana’s claim that United is “a lot better” than their mid-week opponent, claiming that the Cameroonian is “one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United history.”

The midfielder said, “If you’re one of the worst goalkeepers in Manchester United history, you need to take care of what you’re talking about.
“If David de Gere, Peter Schmeichel, or Edwin van der Sall said that, I have doubts about myself, but if you are statistically one of the worst goalkeepers of Manchester United’s modern history, he needs to show it before he says that.”
Now Onana has issued a response – it looks like Matic is aiming for another bargain.
Posting on X, he wrote:
“We’re focused on preparing our performances to make our fans proud. At the very least, I’ve lifted the trophy at the best clubs in the world. I can’t say the same thing.”
The post was accompanied by Onana, who kissed the FA Cup after last year’s final. This won after beating Manchester City at Wembley last May.
In contrast, Matic didn’t earn any major honors in his time at Old Trafford, but he made three finals and finished twice as runner-up in the Premier League.
It seems unlikely that Onana’s latest comments will end the feud between the pair, but it appears that we still won’t see if the Spark will fly after kickoff on Thursday.
