One championship believes it has no contractual connections with former grappling title holder Daniel Kelly and some notable mixed martial artists who previously fought in One Circle. This news comes from Nick Atkin Bangkok Post Those who mentioned information about Kelly and the releases of mixed martial arts competitors such as Meng Bo, Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg, Xie Wei and Antonio Mammarella.
The previous Atomweight Submission Grappling Champion, along with these referenced MMA fighters, was released in subtlety as the promotion did not formally announce this using the updated profile on the organization’s website.
Daniel Kelly has played a major role in the growth of one championship submission grappling branch, and is the most widely focused of the elite nogi grappler crops he signed several years ago. The 29-year-old became the first champion in her chosen weight category before Kelly lost the strap to Maysabustos last August.
This follows news that other Big One grapplers are no longer moving their circle deals.
As for Meng Bo, her release surprised many who actively pursued one circuit as Chinese combatants were previously the fourth-ranked female atomic-class MMA candidate, approaching receiving title shots rather than receiving walking paper.
Bo also fought outside her weight class in a brave effort with one strawweight champion Xiong Jingnan, and Bo scored a notable victory over current UFC strawweight champion Zhang Weili.
One Championship Athlete Cut Followed
As for Zoltsetseg, Wei, and Mammarella, they each appear to have reached the endpoint. ZoltsetSeg has posted a 5-4 record under the promotional banner since it debuted at one championship in 2019.
Wei was placed in the chopping block after Accruigning three fights that lost Skid despite opposing some of the top fighters in the promotion. The Chinese flyweight will lose to stubborn candidate Reece Mclaren, current title holder Yuya Wakamatsu and finally Wada’s Tatsumitsu on July 5th.
As for Mamarera, he made a short 0-2 run in one circle, including a defeat to Angela, Christian and Victoria Lee’s younger brother, Adrian Lee.
At this point there were no official statements from one championship regarding any of these athlete releases.
