Transfer News expert Fabrizio Romano has provided something that could be a significant update on the future of Liverpool striker Darwinnes.
Napoli is pursuing Uruguay International, and Romano explains that the Serie A Giants are preparing for a camp for players and another talk.
Journalists also say they have interest from the Saudi Arabian professional league club, but Napoli seems to be pushing the strongest right now.
Posting to X on his official account, Romano said: “Naples are preparing another consultation this week to advance Darwin Nunes’ camp and trading. There are also more enthusiastic clubs from the Saudi Arabian professional leagues, but Napoli has been trying for weeks.”
This follows on his YouTube channel talking on his YouTube channel about how Nunez could replace Hugo Ekitike this summer.
Hugo Ekitike “concrete” targets replace Darwinnes
“Don’t forget how Liverpool is involved in the story of Hugo Echicicke,” Romano said.
“Since Liverpool is waiting to find a solution for Darwin Nunes. Darwin is expected to leave Liverpool. Napoli is in contact with the player’s camp, so Napoli is on board.
“There’s also interest from more European clubs, but there’s also interest from the Saudi Arabian club. Darwin was the top target for the Saudi Arabian club in January. Darwin remains the target of the Saudi club’s transfer window this summer.
“And let’s follow the situation with Darwin Nunes, because once Darwin leaves, Ekitique is a concrete target for Liverpool.”
Darwin Nunes flops in Liverpool and that’s certainly time to leave
Nunes appears to be an exciting talent for former club Benfica, scoring 48 goals in 85 games in two seasons for the Portuguese Giants.
By comparison, the 25-year-old has managed just 40 goals in 143 appearances in three seasons for Liverpool.
The Reds could do much better than this, and fans will be welcoming the signature of exciting young talents like Ekitique as an upgrade for Nunes.
