One of Man City’s priorities during this summer’s transfer period is replacing the departure Kevin de Bruin, with multiple targets identified, but now stands out among the rest.
De Bruyne announced earlier this year that she would be leaving Man City in 10 years. PepGuardiola already has Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, James Mcatee and others at their disposal, but they hope that experts will be brought in to attack the midfielders.
Florian Wirtz, James Maddison and Morgan Gibbs-White are all tied to the summer move towards Etihad, but at this stage it is the latter that Man City chief is most interested in.
Ready to promote interest in Morgan Gibbs White
In a tweet posted to X, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Man City is ready to raise interest in Gibbswhite and that talks are expected to take place in the coming weeks.
“Manchester City is one of our priorities goals, so we plan to move forward with the Morgan Gibbswhite deal over the next few weeks. While we don’t expect any issues in personal terms, it has something to do with Nottingham Forest, which wants to keep MGW up.”
It’s no surprise that Forest wants to keep Gibbs White, one of their best players this season. And while securing qualifications for the Champions League could help their bids, that may not be enough as Man City is almost certain to play in the competition next season.
It remains to be seen how Gibbs White’s future will unfold, but it is clear that Man City wants to sign him this summer. The forest certainly tries to cut off their job and convince him to stay on the ground in the city.
