As Alish goalkeeper is looking for regular first-team football years later as Alison Becker researcher, it appears Caoimhin Kelleher is increasingly likely to leave Liverpool this summer.
The 26-year-old has been with the Reds since 2015, but now he appears ready to take the next step in his career, pursuing a starting role elsewhere.
Kelleher played in only a handful of Premier League appearances during his time at Anfield. This is primarily featured as a backup in European matches, in cup competitions.
He was often impressed when he helped Liverpool win the Carabao Cup in 2022, but his opportunity remains limited due to Allison’s consistency and world-class status.
Liverpool goalkeeper wants a first role
Kelleher hinted at the possibility of moving to the card, stating his ambition to be number one goalkeeper and play regularly.
That ambition seems to be nearing reality now, with reports suggesting that both clubs and players are open to summer departures.
Following Liverpool’s final match of the season, Kelleher said.
“I think I’ve said it before. I feel like I’m good enough to be number one. I feel like I’m good enough to play a week a week – that’s what I want to do.
I’ve been lucky enough to play a lot of games this season, but that’s definitely something I’m seeing. ”
While he was signed at Anfield until 2026, Liverpool was happy to hear Republic of Ireland International’s offer of £15 million to £20 million.
Aston Villa was able to get a way to Kelleher
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side has been interested in the Reds’ goalkeeper’s move this summer.
Villa could lose first-choice goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez this summer, potentially targeting the Reds star.
Former Liverpool midfielder Diddy Haman has previously praised Keleher.
“For me, he is one of the top five keepers around.
Another Liverpool star associated with the move from Anfield is Cody Gakupo, who is being chased by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
