Open winners in France: boys and girls singles champions
SHARE

Rafael Nadal has dominated the French Open since winning his first title with Roland Garros in 2005. Of the 22 career Grand Slam championships for the Spaniards, 14 appeared on the French Open clay court. That’s more than any other player in tennis history.

Nadal and 2023 champion Novak Djokovik have stepped out of running in the 2024 tournament and given Carlos Alkaraz or Alexander Zverev the opportunity to add a French open title to his resume. Alcaraz appeared on Sunday with a five-set victory.

On the women’s side, Chris Ebert is the Queen of Clay. Her seven career French open titles are the most popular for any woman.

Iga Swiatek, the current number one player in the world, has come close to Evert’s record by winning her third consecutive French open title at the 2024 tournament.

Check out the male and female singles champions through French Open History.
