Liverpool were interested in signing Newcastle United’s Alexander Isaac during the summer transfer period, and they submitted official offers to get the deal done.
According to David Ornstein of the New York Times, Liverpool followed up on the informal approach with an official proposal, but Newcastle declined.
Newcastle declines Alexander Isaac’s bid
They wanted to keep the players in the club and presented him with the option to sign a new deal with the 2026 release clause. On top of that, senior Newcastle players are pushing players to stay with the club as well.
It would be interesting to see if the striker decided to change his mind. He is keen on his move to Liverpool and time will tell you whether the Premier League champion is ready to return with his improved offers.
Isaac transforms Liverpool
ISAK is an important player Newcastle has joined the club. He has established himself as the best striker in the Premier League for the past 12 months. If they can get the deal done, he would be an incredible acquisition for Liverpool. They have improved their team significantly since winning the league title and have been able to take them to a whole new level with the addition of Swedish International.
There were rumours that Liverpool would be willing to pay the 25-year-old Newcastlestar the UK transfer fee. It remains to be seen whether Magpies will change their stance in the coming weeks. They have not been able to introduce quality alternatives so far, which certainly has contributed to resisting Isaac’s departure.
It will be interesting to see how things develop in the next few days.
