Dodgers owner Mark Walter responds to Clayton Kershaw's announcement of retirement

Future Hall of Fame Clayton Kershaw will be retiring at the end of the 2025 season, the Los Angeles announced Thursday.

“The 2014 NL Cy Young Award winner, 2014 NL MVP and the 11-time All-Star Clayton Kershaw will be retiring as a player at the end of the 2025 season,” the team’s statement read. “He will begin his final regular season at Stadium on Friday.”

owner and chairman Mark Walter has issued a statement regarding Kershaw’s upcoming retirement.

“On behalf of the , I congratulate Clayton on an incredible career and thank you for the moment he gave fans and baseball fans everywhere, and for all his deep charity work,” Walter said. “He’s a truly legendary career and what we know will lead to his guiding in the Baseball Hall of Fame.”

Carshaw’s final regular season home start will be against the San Francisco Giants on Friday, September 19th.
