Patrick Beverley continues to call out Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young.
This offseason, Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young made headlines after failing to reach a long-term contract extension.
The controversy led many to question Young’s relationship with the Hawks. The easiest way would be to lead the Hawks to a strong performance in the 2025-26 season.
Unfortunately, the Hawks are off to a terrible start after losing their opening game against the Toronto Raptors.
Former NBA player Patrick Beverley targeted Young throughout the offseason. He previously called Young a coach killer.
Now, after a 138-118 loss to the Raptors, Pat Bev targeted Young again.
“(Trae Young) and (Hawks) were talking and trolling so much just to talk about the playoffs and lose by 20 points to the Raptors. Stop making a stink,” Beverley tweeted.
The last time Beverley called out to Young, Kevin Durant came to the Hawks star’s aid. But this time, Trey deserves the vilification.
The Hawks are by no means the best team in the Eastern Conference, but a blowout loss to a team that didn’t even make the playoffs last season is certainly embarrassing.
Speaking of Young’s performance, he finished the night with 22 points, one rebound, and five assists.
Young may have led the Hawks in scoring, but he wasn’t efficient, making 5 of 14 from the field, including an abysmal 1 of 7 from the 3-point line.
As Beverley stated, Young certainly “stinks” against the Raptors, but he has played 81 regular season games proving the former NBA guard wrong.
