Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Patrick Beverly seeks respect Former NBA star.
The two biggest stars on the Los Angeles Lakers roster are LeBron James and Luka Donsic. However, when the team was in trouble, coach JJ Redick often relied on another star.
None other than Austin Reeves, who really featured purple and gold notches this season.
Initially, many doubted the Reaves’ ability to doubt that they would become a legal third option in championship competitors like the Lakers. Critics included former NBA star Chandler Parsons.
An undrafted player, Reaves faces critics every step of his NBA journey. But he’s outweighed the Lakers’ chances this season.
Nowadays, many people are on boats for AR15 hype. However, some former NBA players like Chandler Parsons didn’t believe Reeves could go to the biggest star and toe.
“I love Austin Reeves. His ceiling is exactly what he’s doing now. I think his ceiling is what he’s consistent,” Parsons said of Reeves in 2023.
“He’s not a player who keeps getting really good. That’s not what he could potentially go through the roof with him. He’s him.”
That wasn’t the only thing that Parsons wrote down Reaves’ talent. He previously claimed that Paul George of the Philadelphia 76ers was a third better option than the Lakers star.
Former LA Lakers guard Patrick Beverly was always on the corner of Reeves. In fact, Pat Bev has openly argued that Reaves is now the best third option in the NBA.
With that in mind, Beverly recently dug up claims about Parsons’ 2023 Reeves ceiling and called for an apology from a former NBA player.
“White crime white SMH Chandler Parsons now apologise like a man,” Pat Bev writes to X.
The Reaves currently average 20.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists per Lakers game. He is a big reason behind the Lakers’ revival this year.
On another note, as many may have forgotten, Reaves is now in his second year of his four-year, $53.8 million contract.
He averages these great numbers this season while earning under $13 million. This makes Reaves undoubtedly the best third option in the NBA, at least for now.
