Patrick Beverly revisits his views on the Los Angeles Clippers and respects being called “crazy.”
After an eventful regular season, the Los Angeles Clippers are currently preparing to face the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs.
Despite the low seed, many view the Clippers as a legitimate threat to the 2023 NBA champions, taking into account their form, particularly before the playoffs.
The Clippers finished the regular season with a sensational eight-game winning streak driven by the dynamic duo of James Harden and Kawi Leonard.
Former NBA guard Patrick Beverly recently previewed the Clippers vs Nuggets matchup on Pat Bev Podcast With Rone.
That’s why Beverly believes the Clippers have one of the best built rosters heading into the postseason.
“I like the Clippers, I don’t think there’s a hole in them, I don’t think they have areas they’re not good at. Ty Lou is elite in the playoffs, Kauhi (Leonard) is elite in the playoffs, and James Harden is elite in the playoffs,” Beverly said.
The Leonard and Harden duo, coached by Tyronn Lue, is an incredible combination for title contenders. But that’s not the true strength of the Clippers. Because Beverly believes it’s Ivika Zubak that makes a real difference for them.
Zubac is currently playing the seventh season of his career with the LA Clippers. Shy Gilgaus Alexander claimed he got better season after season in Los Angeles.
In fact, Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy wants Zubuck to be still with purple and gold. With that in mind, Beverly revisited an old take on the Croatian star, which won the “Crazy” label.
“Bigsback, he plays very well. My opinion has improved the most. For me, he is in the top three in the league. He’s funny when he says that’s a joke early in the season.
“Now we’re fast forward to the end of the season. Zubac is the heart of the top three in the NBA. That’s true.”
At 28, Zubac entered the height of his career, posting incredible numbers for the Clippers.
That being said, he can guard Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets in the opening round and become the perfect player to help the Clippers create a major upset in the postseason.
