Patton Kizaia withdrew in the second round of Friday’s PGA Championship due to an injury.
The tour did not reveal the nature of the injury to Kizia, who is six years old and older, up to 10 holes in Friday’s round at the Quazur Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Kizzire had the opening round of 74 roller coasters on Thursday, mixing four birdies and seven bogeys.
One predicted cut was one over as of noon on Friday, and Kizzire (+9) was a serious long shot that followed the weekend before pulling out.
Kizzire, who won the PGA Tour three times, entered the second major of the season with eight cuts in 2025. He also retreated after eight holes at the Valspar Championship in March, with a back injury. Before his day was over, he punted his putter to the green after missing a putt.
Kizzire won for the third time at the Procore Championship in Napa, California in September 2024. His best finish of the season was his T20 last week in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
